Julian N. Cail

Born in Belgium in 1980, the author is a university graduate who spent years jotting down characters, short dialogues and story ideas as they came to him. At first, these fragments belonged to no particular novel. Over time, they grew into a world he kept returning to and developing.

The decision to create Usra came from bringing these scattered notes together. A line left over from a single scene, an unfinished conversation or an idea for a character each found a place in shaping this world. The notes he had long kept only for himself gradually became the foundation of a larger story he wanted to tell.

He is now working on Ruthless, a novel set in the world of Usra.
